Mr. & Mrs.

With the Royal Wedding taking place today I decided to share a Wedding Card.
Supplies:  Mami Doodles Digital image - happy couple, Sizzix 3D Flower die,
Imaginsce I rock heat setting tool and pearls, heart shaped gems (flower centres),
SRM Sticker, Ribbon from stash, Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch, pop dots,
copics, ink blending tool, Distress ink - Tea Dye, Diamond
stickles and glossy accents.

I love the aged look on this card - it's outside my normal comfort zone but wanted to make a wedding card that wasn't my norm!  I love red and decided to use this wonderful digi by Elisa - available here.

I love my new 3D Flower Die by Sizzix, you can make flowers with scraps left on your table to use on future projects.  I secure the rolled flower with a glue dot and then add some glossy accents to make sure they won't fall apart!.

Paperplay - Use an object not intended for crafting

This week's challenge on Paperplay Challenges is set by DT Member - Karen.  She wants us all "to use an object not intended for Crafting"... coins, cans/jars, onion or garlic netted bags, shells, cardboard box bits etc.

We are very kindly sponsored by Waltzingmouse Stamps this week - the random winner will receive a set of their choice.  Wish I could play !!!

My non crafting bits - I used bias binding (bottom left of photo)
I scrunched one length up and dyed in a ziploc bag with scattered straw distress ink and the other length I didn't scrunch as much and dyed with spiced marmalade distress ink.  I used my heat tool to dry and I loved the distress/vintage/un-uniform look to it.
The other non crafting thing I used was a to-go coffee cup sleeve!  You can see it in the left of the photo after I ran it through my Big Shot.

I then used the Vintage Ornaments set by Waltzingmouse Stamps and stamped on pp from Basic Grey - sugared range and clear embossed.  I heated, added more clear ep, then heated again so that the stamped image was very thick and glossy - just like a christmas bauble!  The sentiment (Seasons of Love set - WMS) was stamped on some white cardstock with scattered straw distress ink and placed under the bauble cut out to create a raised frame.
Supplies:  WMS Seasons of Love and Vintage Ornaments, Scattered Straw
and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, Cuttlebug Snow dots embossing folder,
Big Shot, White cardstock, kraft card blank - docrafts, clear embossing powder,
heat gun, pearls, machine stitching, pop dots and adhesive.

I am entering my card into this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge
and also into the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge for April.  If you haven't heard about this fun challenge be sure to pop over and check out all the details at waltzingmousehouse.com or follow the links from here.

Challenges

Fluttering Flutters!

I bought a sheet of this wonderful 12x12 paper by Little Yellow Bicycle (Elizabeth Park Collection).  I just adored the array of wonderful butterflies in all their gorgeous colours on just one sheet.

Supplies:  Papermania textured cardstock grey and orange, Little Yellow
Bicycle butterfly paper 12x12, adhesive and docrafts card blank.

Quick card share - trying to get out into the garden to finish the tidy up now that the sun has popped out.  We started with a morning of mist and rain today which was a shock after a week of beautiful sunshine.

Took a spin to Ardmore yesterday - forgot to bring my camera, I was so annoyed with myself because we passed some amazing Spring landscapes and sparkling seascapes.  Have to do another trip over the next few days if the weather holds.

We visited the studio of artist Brigid Shelly while we were in Ardmore.  She has such amazing paintings.  We gave a new home to one of them!.

Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you have a great Easter holiday.  Blessings to you.

I'm in the garden!!!!!

Photo taken Sept 2008

I so look forward to our lavender "hedge" flowering each year... I love how it attracts lots of insects and honey bees and the beautiful perfume wafts across the garden in the summer warmth.

I haven't been about for the past few days as I am in the .... garden!.  So much work needs to be done after the severe Winter.  A few plants didn't make it through and I am busily replacing and replanting.  Also, the weather is stunning here at the moment.

Here's a photo of our back garden when we moved into our home in 2004
Here's what it looks like now (photo taken in 2008!) need to update now that everything is bursting into bud.
Thanks for stopping by... hope you have a great day and hope to have some cards to share tomorrow.

Hero Arts 90 minute scramble and Greeting Farm Freebies!

Supplies:  Hero Arts True Hearts C2908 and sentiment from HA Everyday
sayings CL342, glossy accents, red copic and memento tuxedo black ink.

Quick share today - here's my card that I made for Sally's wonderful 90 minute scramble on the Hero Arts Flickr Group last night.   Sally wanted us to make a Wedding or Celebration card using at least one Hero Arts stamp or option two was to create a card on the same theme using at least one HA stamp but using the colours "red, white and blue".

I don't have blue / navy ink (well, I'm sure I do... but I didn't have enough time to go searching) as I decided to make a quick card for the scramble with 15 minutes left before the scramble ended!  I added glossy accents to the coloured hearts after I photographed and I like the graphic look of the finished card.

The Greeting Farm have two freebie digis for the weekend - Easter Ian and Easter Anya - check them out here.

Thanks for peeking, hope you are having a great day/weekend.

Friend Card

I decided to make a male/masculine Friend Card using paint, ink, embossing and had lots of fun.
Supplies:  HA Large Open Flower, Friend sentiment - HA promotional set CL284,
Friend Definition Stamp, clear embossing powder, Versamark ink,
Adirondack Acrylic Paint dabber in Sail Boat Blue, Faded Jeans Distress ink,
Spellbinders Labels 14, Dark Chocolate ink, ribbon and cardstock by PTI,
ink blending tool by Ranger, Tim Holtz Alterations - Scallops, Dark blue cardstock
by Canson,  pop dots and adhesive.

I stamped the friend definition cling stamp with versamark on white paper and embossed with clear ep.  Then I put a layer of watered down Sail Boat Blue acrylic paint on top and wiped some of the excess paint off using a baby wipe.  Then when dry I inked the edges with distress ink - faded jeans.  I layered it on some co-ordinating cardstock and used a Tim Holtz die to created a dark chocolate scalloped edge.

I added the "friend" sentiment from Hero Arts set CL284 and stamped with faded jeans distress ink over the open flower image already stamped and die cut with Labels 14.

I am entering it into this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

I was so tempted to add buttons, bows etc but decided to leave it as it is ... I know the men in my life say they prefer it "clutter free" LOL!

Thanks for peeking.  Hope you have a great day.

Packet Embellishments!

In Ireland there isn't the extensive selection of cardmaking supplies in stores that there is in other parts of the world but I always gravitate towards any supplies available!.  There is a book store in Killarney that sell some card making embellishments and I just had to pick some up when I was there in February.

Don't know about you but I have all sorts of stuff in my stash which include lots of embellishments.  I decided to dig into the box and start using some ..... here is what I came up with.  Hope this inspires you to dig out yours and start using your stash.

Supplies:  MME Stella Rose pp, Kraft card blank - Jillibean soup, watercolour paper,
distress inks, Real Salvia Hero Arts Stamp, packet of embellishments!

I am going to draw the "goodies" winner from the comments left on my Lily Pad Cards Blog Hop post later and hopefully post tomorrow.  I am having back twinges at the moment and can't sit at my computer for long.... hopefully going to get it rectified in the morning first thing and will again be as right as rain!

Hope your day is going great.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

aperture box card blank, acetate, tea dye distress ink, blending tool,
orange felt, PTI flower dies, Jane Beljo fimo button, clear sequins,
embroidery floss and copics.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating in Ireland/UK today.

A quick share today - I made this up whilst making my Lily Pad Cards blog hop card (here) but decided to put acetate inside the window and convert it to a shaker.  Was going to fill with goodies but some of the Moms/Grandmas are off choccies for Lent.  So added some sequins instead.  My little helper was fantastic at this part (he was home sick from school).

Used some fun orange felt and my PTI flower dies and a Jane Beljo fimo button to finish it off.

My second card is the one for my Mom.

Enjoy your Day - Penny Black

Supplies:  Betsy Bluebell stamp and sentiment by Penny Black, Canson
teal cardstock, Papermania Kraft card blank, XCut scallop border punch,
Ranger fine black embossing powder, Papermania black ink, Papermania gems,
copics, colouring pencils, Stella Rose pp, white gel pen, glossy accents,
clear sequins, Diamond stickles and pop dots.

A number of months ago I won some PB stamps my friend Kathy Racoosin's blog - The Daily Marker.  I have been half terrified to pull them out and ink them up when I see what AMAZING things she creates with them on a daily basis.

I decided to "bite the bullet" and inked up this cutie for this week's Penny Black Challenge - wet embossing.
I am so glad I did, I had so much fun playing with Betsy Bluebell.
I did some colouring, paper piecing, added embellishments, glossy accents, decorated the inside, the list goes on... and on.... but I had lots of fun.

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope you have a great day/weekend.
