It's Party Time at Pollycraft and some digi freebies!

Paula over on Pollycraft is closing up her store (8th June) and is having a linky party ... where you showcase some of your favourite creations using her amazing digis.  She is also having an AMAZING sale and giving away some digi freebies.

If you stop by here occasionally you will know that I am a HUGE fan of Paula's talent and was lucky enough to be a Guest Designer for a month on Pollycraft's Challenge site.

I just bought her mega bundle deal - £9.50 for 100+ digis...... seriously!  is that a bargain or what?
I want to take this opportunity to wish Paula every good wish for this new chapter in her life and thank her for sharing her talent with us all.
I could add soooo many cards to this post - I have made so many creations using Paula's digis.

Hugs to you Paula and your DT on Pollycraft Monday Challenge - what an amazing four years it has been.
Good Luck and Best Wishes.

On your special day

Supplies:  pp - London Market collection - Pink Paislee,
Frame stamp & sentiment Chatsworth collection - Papermania,
Ocean Tides ribbon - PTI, butterfly die - PTI, Resin flower -
Whimsies - Webster's Pages, pearl heart - Hobby House,
Kraft card blank - Papermania, pins - Hobby House and Making Memories,
Colorbox blue ink, pop dots and tombow roller adhesive.

I love how this card turned out - love the shades of aqua/green and pale blue.  The sentiment and frame are stamped on cream cardstock and lifted from the card using pop dots.

I kept it simple enough, embellishing with a resin flower by Webster's Pages and gorgeous patterned paper from the Simon Says Stamp June Kit of the month by Pink Paislee.  I made it as a Wedding Card but I guess could be used for a number of different occasions.

Touch marker RP7, yellow vellum - Papermania, buttons from stash,

This week's challenge on Paperplay is "Summer Lovin'" (Summer/or make a card for a couple).  I decided to pair this fun cake image by Whiff of Joy with a mini alpha "Congrats" sentiment.  The perfect card for a summer wedding.
Lots of machine stitching (and hand stitched the buttons)
Love the banners and dots on the patterned paper - it was a free stack from Quick Cards magazine a few months ago - which I won on Jane Millard's blog (thanks again Jane).

Turning Ten ...

Supplies: Sailing boat stamp - Lili of the Valley, blue cardstock -
Canson, Outline Alphabet stamp set - PTI, glossy accents,
pop dots, tombow roller adhesive, copics, paintbrush,
Viridian - Aquamarine - French Ultramarine Archival inks -
Ranger, faded jeans distress ink - Ranger, Pearl Acrylic
Paint - docrafts, detail scissors and guillotine - purple cows.

Made this splattered card for my son's 10th Birthday today.

I decided to create a splatter effect background with various shades of ink that I mixed with some water and got splatting with a paintbrush!  So much fun!  I then added the image which I coloured with copics on top with pop dots for some dimension.

The white acrylic paint is a pearl medium so there is a little bit of shine and I added glossy accents to the hull of the boat.

over on Moxie Fab World.

Good Luck!

Supplies:  pp - Basic Grey, pp - Pina Colada collection - Kaisercraft,
orange cardstock - Canson, Butterfly die -
Stampin Up, kraft cardstock - Bazzill Basics, Baby Bowser font -
computer generated sentiment, machine stitching, button
from stash and tombow roller adhesive.

Wanted to make some bright and cheery good luck cards as it is that time of the year - Leaving Certificate exams.  These are the final exams you take in Ireland before you start the next chapter - college/job etc.

I had the tiniest scrap of the Kaisercraft paper left and ran it through my Big Shot with my favourite butterfly die.  I love this paper and you can see other cards using it here and here.
I layered up the butterfly and machine stitched to the card.  The base paper is from a Basic Grey 6x6 paper stack called basics manilla and is an off white colour (not very evident from the photo!).

A very quick and easy "thinking of you" card to cover a variety of occasions.  It's not my DT week on Paperplay Challenges but this card fits the Challenge this week of "Destruction!" - I tore the cork and cardstock to give a distressed look to this card.

Used the stamp set called "Sentimental Birds" by Sweet Stamp Shop and created layers with cork and cardstock.

New Shoes!

I was lucky enough to be asked to capture the First Holy Communion photos of a friend's daughter last Saturday.  While I was waiting for the beautiful little girl to get dressed into her amazing dress I chatted with her little brothers who were sitting watching a Spiderman cartoon.  They were chatting whilst having one eye on the tv!  So adorable.

I then spotted their cool and trendy new runners for the occasion and got down to floor level to capture their little feet.  That was where their Father found me! - what must he have thought!  She's nuts would definitely have been my thought!

Just wanted to share why I'm not creating cards - busy post processing photos!  Hope you have a great Tuesday.

A puff of wind and sunshine!

Most of you will know that I love sailing and photography and sometimes I combine the two!
I wasn't sailing yesterday but managed to get out on the water to capture a few of the 1720 sportsboats racing in a nice stiff breeze!  The sun was shining which really helped with a beautiful sky and a fabulous blue water colour.
Some boats had interesting crew onboard!!
and then a cloud passed by overhead
and then the sun shone again!
All in all a fun day on the water.

Thanks for peeking - hope you had a great weekend too.

Chipboard!

Supplies:  Cheerios Cereal box, Spectacles Set - Sweet Stamp Shop,
Free Spirit Sentiments - Waltzingmouse Stamps, Black Tuxedo
ink - memento, Anita's A6 White card blanks, pop dots,
black sharpie, acrylic block, kraft knife, scissors and glossy accents.

Yeah... the challenge this week on Paperplay is CHIPBOARD!!
To see my teamies creations - check out the chipboard fabulousness here.

To me chipboard is all around us and I love crafting with it, cutting it, painting it and not necessarily the stuff that comes prepackaged as flourishes/alphas etc.

I stamped the spectacles on a cereal box (yeap... aka chipboard!) with black ink.  I then carefully cut around them with a tiny scissors and kraft knife.  I then went over them with a black sharpie to make sure they were "really" black.  I then added a layer of glossy accents and set aside to dry.  I cut cardstock to mat and stamped the sentiment.  Added pop dots, layered and then added the spectacles with tiny foam squares to the front of the card.

Entering this into the Spectacular Spectacles Challenge over on Moxie Fab World.

Good Luck!

Supplies:  pp - Sun kissed collection Bo Bunny Press, ATC -
Soiree Collection Pink Paislee, sentiment sticker - SRM, buttons from
stash, pop dots, embroidery floss and A6 card blank - Anita's.

You may remember my card featuring the bike a few days ago, well this card is made using the reverse side of the patterned paper.  I loved this retro box pattern and the wonderful splodges of white along the side and of course the colour!

I topped it off with a die cut shape from the Soiree Collection by Pink Paislee, added a pointing finger /sentiment and stitched the buttons directly to the die cut before adhering to the card base with dimensional foam dots.  Added the last green button with glossy accents rather than stitching through the card.

The Gallery Idol Open Auditions have started and the theme is "Encouragement Cards" - I think this qualifies! but will have to get my thinking cap on and be a little more creative!

Challenges
Creative Card Crew - sentiment as focal point

Good times.....

Supplies:  pp Sun Kissed collection - Bo Bunny Press, buttons from
stash, white alphas - Papermania, copics, glossy accents, 6x6 card blank and

I let the patterned paper dictate how this card design worked out!.  I added co-ordinating buttons from my stash which I adhered with glossy accents.  I coloured the white alphas with a copic and adhered to the card base.

I bet you see a theme in the cards I have been sharing over the past few days!  Happy Birthday to my SIL who is turning the big 4-0 today!  This one I made for my son to give to her.  I mixed lots of colour on this using the die cut flower shape by Pink Paislee as my colour palette.

I created the sentiment using two fun fonts and used a square punch to cut the "notch" out of the end of the banner.
