Appreciate your loved one!

Supplies:  pp - Webster Pages, green textured cardstock -
Papermania, kraft cardstock - Papermania, Stampin Up Butterfly die,
Quickutz Scalloped square die, rust cardstock (flowers) - Canson,
pearls, heart gems, button from stash, machine stitching,
tea dye distress ink and blending tool, pop dots, embroidery floss
and sentiment - trying to find where it came from!

This week's challenge on Paperplay is "Appreciation/Thank you".  I decided to think a little outside the box on this one and make a card to give a loved one in appreciation of all that they do!

I used Webster Pages patterned paper and lots of dies, stitching and some inking.  The sentiment was on my pc - I get a lot of my sentiments from Create with TLC but don't think this was one of them.  If you recognise it please let me know as I always credit the owner and give a link back.
Thanks for stopping by - hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.

Honey ... I'm home!

Hi everyone... it's been a while - I have been busy with lots of other things i.e. entertaining boys on their school holidays!

We spent a lot of our time on the water and visited some fun locations!
Fastnet Rock - the most southerly point of Ireland
The Fastnet Rock is 13 kilometres from the main land of Ireland and as you can see was flat calm the day we visited.  The rock rises to 98 ft above low water and is separated from Little Fastnet (on the right) by a 10 metre channel.
98 ft from low water to the top!
You can get an idea of the height from this photo (above).
A less popular view of the Rock.
Lots and lots of steps!
The lighthouse was built in 1897 and first lit in 1904!  Isn't that just amazing?

I took over a thousand photos in the last few weeks - so please bear with me while I process them and see if there are a few worth sharing!

Thanks for peeking - I promise to try to get back and visit all your blogs over the coming weeks but as many of you know - it's a busy, busy time with school starting back up!

Packaging! Upcycle/recycle

Supplies:  Follow your heart stamp set - My Mind's Eye,
Aquamarine Archival ink - Ranger, Mini white luggage tag,
Rich Cocoa ink - Memento, aqua washi tape - The Greeting Farm,
red washi tape - Queen & Co, heart punch - X-Cut, Ribbon - craftfairy.co.uk,
Manilla tag - Ranger Industries, flower - stash, pearls - Icon Craft.

The Challenge this week on Paperplay is "Upcycle/Recycle".

I needed to package up some items for my niece and decided to recycle some card packaging (cellophane bag). I used tissue paper and punched red/teal circles and hearts from some textured pp to create the confetti to add to the package. I added one tiny heart to the tag.

I love using bright colours on my projects. I used stamped images in rich cocoa as my base layer and then added the colours with flower, washi tape and ribbon.
Thanks for peeking- hope you have a wonderful day.

Layer it up!

Supplies:  pp's - What's Up collection Basic Grey,
Sizzix, machine stitching, lace from stash, ribbon - MemrieMare on Etsy
button from stash, pop dots, chipboard butterfly - Random Collection
Crate Paper, pearls - Icon Craft, A6 card blank - Anita's,
embroidery floss and roller adhesive.

Quite a lot of the pp's, stamps and dies that I used on this card came from Simon Says Stamp.  I have been purchasing their monthly kits and having lots of fun creating.  I used Basic Grey papers on this from their What's Up Collection.  It was part of the Simon Says Stamp May Kit.

Guess what! They are our sponsor on Paperplay Challenges this week and the challenge is to "Layer it Up".

I had fun using lots of elements on this card and as you know - this would not be my norm!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to play along with us.
