Mami Doodles New digital stamps released - Bugs and Kisses!

Where do the week's go?  Today is Friday so that means new stamps from Mami Doodles.  Yipee.... what beauties they are too... so much fun to play with.

Meet "Escargot et Champignon" - Vera requested Elisa to create this little guy.  There are 3 images in total in the kit and it is available here.
Here is what I created with our new friend!.

I created a computer generated sentiment using Rosewood Std font and others which I unable to find now!.  I merged a freebie image that Elisa has on her blog called "ladybird" with our new friend and hey presto... an "in the garden" scene.

I coloured the image with copics, used my curved rectangles by spellbinders to cut and emboss the image with a slight overhang on the left side.  Added a handmade fimo button I made and some ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you will stop by the rest of the DT to see their work or visit Mami Doodles blog here for the release and a challenge.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and maybe you will find time to play along with the 2nd Mami Doodles Challenge this week.

Paperplay - "Pretty Pastels"

This is my DT card for this week's Paperplay Challenge which is set by Mandy.  It is very kindly sponsored by Cardmad Fairy.  She wants us to use "pretty Pastels" and gave us this fun digi called "All Dressed Up" to play with.  I intitally coloured her and then couldn't find matching pastel paper in my stash, so I printed the image on pp and paper pieced her instead adding gems to the flower centres on her dress.
I used a pale pink pp for her dress with co-ordinating paper on the background by Daisy & Dandelion - "Some bunny loves you range".   I added a sentiment from Papermania printed in silver saying "Lots of Love".  Could use it for Mother's Day, Birthday, Sister's Birthday.... love the image.

Thanks so much for peeking.  Hope you will get a chance to play along with Paperplay this week.

Free digi on The Greeting Farm

Dear Friends - Good Morning.  A very quick post today.... just to say "hi" and thanks again for all your votes and support.  We came second in The Royal Battle...woohoo ... go Dream Team.  We are thrilled.  As a thank you to all voters/supporters of the battle - Marie in The Greeting Farm has a freebie digi - "Chibi Bunny" for today only.  Be sure to check it out here while it's available.

Above is a card I made with a stamped image that Fika very kindly sent to me at the beginning of the 5 weeks - so I would have some images to use in the challenges (as my supply was quite limited!) but this is now to be rectified with The Greeting Farm prize we have won.... woot woot... thanks Marie.

I adore this little "deer" from the Forest Friends set and the sentiment is so fun.  It is available here.

Thanks so much for peeking... and don't forget about that freebie here.  Happy Wednesday.

April CCC

This is the card I made for Deborah's April Card Chain Challenge (CCC).  I try to participate each month as it is so much fun getting a card from somewhere in the world and sending a card to someone (normally not in the same country as you).  This month I got to send one to Corey in the USA.    I used a Pure Innocence digital image by Heather Ellis.  I just love these images.  I played around with some colour pencils, sansodor (gamsol) and a paper stub!!! so fun as it was my first time trying it.  Will need to practice quite a bit I think!!!  Added glossy accents to the mail box, a fimo button which I had made recently and my new MS lace punch.

This month the template was this (Deborah also provides a colour swatch or theme that you can use... but I went for the template!).
and I made this....
Can't understand why the colour/contrast in the photo isn't so great.  Will try and retake and post it again.

I also want to share the beautiful card that I received from the super talented Sally.  Last month I sent Sally a card for the March CCC, so it was so fun receiving one from Sally this month.  Sally worked on the sketch/template too.
Be sure to keep an eye here for the next month's sign up if you want to play along.  Thanks for peeking.

I want to give a HUGE shout out and THANK YOU to all supporters of the Dream Team that have helped us on our way over the past five weeks.  It has been quite a journey!!! and Kathy, Fika and I had a wonderful time.  The last 24 hours of the Battle was absolute nail biting stuff and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help, support and encouragement.

Hope you have a great day.

_____________________________________________________
I wanted to post this as I know not everyone checks their blogs/emails etc at the weekend, but reckoned I would post one last time about the Royal Battle.  We are at the closing stages of the battle ....  it is down to 6 teams...... the challenge this week is to create a his and her project (co-ordinating).
We would LOVE your vote - so click here to pop over to cast your vote (poll will open Sunday for 24 hours from the time it is made live).  Thanks from the Dream Team - Kathy, Fika and me.

Now for a card share.  Made this for this month's Hero Arts Challenge - Mother's Day and Home
I used the Hero Arts digital kit - Poetic Petals and a sentiment from TLcCreations.  This was a freebie saying/sentiment and be sure to check out their blog/site where they do wonderful word art on a weekly basis.

I am loving my new curved rectangle die cuts and added a little fimo button which I made.  The sentiment reads dan.de.li.on (yellow, golden annoying weed, when picked by a child, is all mom needs.)  Whilst I realise this flower was suppose to be a daisy and not a dandelion I think it holds a striking resemblence to a dandelion.  I added some stickles too... for that extra little bit of sparkle.

Thanks so much for peeking.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and I will post our entry to the Royal Battle in my post tomorrow.  Many many thanks for all your well wishes and support to date.

Get Well Soon

Hope you can see the shine in the photo above... harder to capture than you would think!  I cropped out my fingers!!.  Wanted to make it "jar" like!  I used a good ol' dollop of glossy accents to create the look.
Supplies:  Digital image by Digistamp Boutique, Bazzill dotted swiss cardstock,
Papermania textured cardstock, copics and glossy accents.

I just adore this digi image from Digistamp Boutique.  It is called... "caught a bug" - it was a freebie a few months ago... they very kindly do freebies each month.  I just think this is a perfect get well card for a smallie and you can colour the bugs any colour you want.  The digi comes with the sentiment too - which is great.

Thanks for stopping by today and I always love reading each and every comment you leave.  Hope you have a wonderful day... the countdown to the Royal Battle Finale is ticking!....

Paperplay - "don't use any patterned paper!"

Over on Paperplay this week the challenge is set by Evonne.  It is - "no patterned paper to be used".  It is very kindly sponsored by Whiff of Joy.
And here is what I came up with.... using no patterned paper!.
Evonne did say that we could use cardstock - and that is what I have done.  Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock cut with my large scalloped circles.  The image is a digital image by Heather Ellis called Pure Innocence available here.  I added glossy accents to her wellies and to the heart on the watering can.  I then added some ribbon flowers that I had in my stash - they are two tones of pink with a touch of white.

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope that you will play along.

We are through!!! Roll on the Final Week

Well everyone, great news over the Greeting Farm blog this morning..... the Dream Team is through to the Final Round of the Royal Battle..... woohoo... I am soooo delighted.  Delighted that so many people liked my candy packaging (photo above).  Thank you to everyone who voted for us... we REALLY appreciate it.

The competition has changed this week - voting will only be on Sunday 25th April (THIS COMING SUNDAY) and it will be a poll on the side of the blog - so you only have one vote and voting will open and close on the same day.

Thankfully this week it is Kathy or Fika's turn to make the challenge card/project which is a co-ordinating project - one for a girl and one for a boy.
Remember this photo?  Just wanted to let you know that there are still 7 days left to enter the Mami Doodles Colour Challenge.  Elisa has outlined that you don't have to use her digis or any digis if you don't want - just create a layout, card, project as long as it uses the colours for the challenge.  Full details of the challenge are here

She REALLY wants to do some giveaways this week - so if you leave a comment here with a suggestion for a new image you will also be in with a chance to win.  Don't you just love the chance to win some goodies.  Thanks Elisa.  Don't forget to check out her blog on Thursday for her new digi stamp.

Thanks for your support and thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a blessed day.

Final Day of Voting....... Thank you Card

Yes, it's Tuesday so that means... FINAL day of voting for your favourite over on The Greeting Farm - Royal Battle Week 4.  If you are reading this and haven't voted for me, Kathy & Fika aka The Dream Team yet (feel guilty??) please click here if you would like to cast your vote/comment.  (Your comment under our entry is considered a vote).  Thank you soooo much, we really appreciate it.

Now... onto a card.  Didn't post yesterday as to be honest.... I was a little wrecked after last week's efforts of candy packaging!.
This card I made with one of Paula's beautiful digital images - "Bridget" available over on Tales from Pollycraft.  It was a freebie image a number of weeks ago - Paula very kindly does freebies on Friday.  It is a thank you card which I made to thank you all for your support over the past number of weeks and particularly this week - The Dream Team really appreciates it.
I coloured Bridget with copics, added a scalloped circles cut out of bright pink Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock and a vintage puffy flower and fimo button (the flower is made out of an old English/French Dictionary!).

Thanks for peeking and I hope you have a great day.

Greeting Farm - Week Four

For some reason, despite numerous uploading attempts with different size files our photo will not display over on the Greeting Farm gallery in a large format.  So sorry if you had to stop by here to view.

Hope you like our candy packaging and and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.

Hugs from Deirdre, Kathy and Fika.

Click here to return to our entry in TGF gallery and if you wish to vote - please leave a comment under the entry (even though it isn't displaying that is still how to vote - thanks so much).

(p.s. for the back story and more photos on how I created this candy wrapping/packaging - click here.).  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Royal Battle - Week Four

Where has the week gone?  Oh yah... I know... in blind panic!!!!  I kid you not...

This week's challenge over on The Greeting Farm is candy packaging.... and it was my turn to complete our entry for this week's challenge.... so I started with this!
Very important to have the right product to work with right? and decided to choose this....

I had LOADS of ideas floating around in my head for this challenge but getting them completed in the time frame was the difficult part... I could have produced many lines of packaging - different colours, themes, baby shower favors.. you name it... I could package it with the wonderful Greeting Farm images.
Anyhow... I only had since Wednesday morning and I came  up with the idea of an easel card/scene sitting on top of a candy bar!!!  And to the execution of said idea... here is my "hansel and gretel" house.... with some friends!.
I just had to use Ivy Morning... and layered a second flower box on top, added tiny little flowers and gems I had in my stash and white gel pen accents to the coloured flower centers.
Had to include a sweet shop sign (candy store!!)... used the top of the Ivy Morning window and free-handed the rest!... little punched heart for good measure with a doodle!  The owl is from this set.

And for the main card... I enlarged a stamped image of one of the houses from this set.
I used my recent win over on TGF blog (thank you Marie) - "Laurie Cookies" with her tray of yummy delights - cut and layered (very apt given the chocolate bar was cookie crumble!).

Now, do you want to sing along.... "Sweets for my sweet.... sugar for my honey"!! - the sentiment is a computer generated font called "Scrubble".
I really hope that you like our entry.  There are lots of tiny details/layers that are difficult to capture.  However, I will post some more details tomorrow.  Hope you like our entry enough to vote for us here.

Only one vote per person this week (new rules).  Voting - let me explain how it works - you add a comment under our entry to cast your vote (you do need to be registered with TGF but that only takes a couple of minutes).

Many many thanks... we really appreciate each and every vote.  A BIG THANK YOU FROM KATHY, FIKA & ME.  We are thrilled to be participating in this fun challenge.  Fingers and toes crossed for this week!.

April Card Chain Challenge

I took part in Deborah's Card Chain Challenge again this month but won't post my card until Corey - the recipient! has received it.  I however, got this AMAZING card in the post during the week from my super talented friend - Sally.

It really is a super challenge to be involved in - keep an eye on Deborah's blog for sign up.  Everyone wins as you get a beautiful card like this with a lovely message to brighten your day (and it could be from anywhere in the world!).
This beauty has amazing layers of paper but also of texture to it and it is hard to show in the photo.  The embossing and stamping is just amazing.

Sally - thank you so much for the beautiful card that is sitting on my mantlepiece and the beautiful goodies too.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Mami Doodles New Digital kit released

I am so thrilled to be part of this wonderful Design Team.  Elisa creates amazing digital images and digital kits.  This is the "Midori" Digital Kit and here is what Elisa says about this kit - "Midori is one of my favourite names, it means "Green" in Japanese.  This girl likes to dress up, so I have her in 3 different outfits, and also a template for paper piecing or cutting.  Print the girl undressed and colour it. Then use the template to make the dress in patterned paper. It is a great way to use paper scraps, specially one with small patterns".

I used her in her purest form - didn't paper piece or colour her too much.  Created a set of Thank You cards using the various digital images and enhanced with copics, gems and stickles.  LOVE her.

The kit is available here.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like "Midori" as much as I do.

Now onto Mami Doodles First Challenge - create a card/project using the colours in this photo for inspiration.
Here is what I came up with for the Challenge
I coloured "Midori" with my copics in the sky blue/aqua green colour, dull ivory and red, matted and layered on matching cardstock.  Then I used Cosmo Cricket pp and cut out section and added faux stitching and gems.

Thanks so much for peeking and really hope that you will play along with the Challenge.  Full details are here.

Paperplay - "Use Stickers"

So, it's Thursday again... where does the week go?  This week I set the challenge over on Paperplay to use stickers (chipboard stickers, quote stickers etc.) on your card/project.  I reckon we all have a couple in our stash and they so frequently go overlooked.
So... I checked my stash ... .and boy do I have a LOT of stickers.  I found these by DCWV - they are "saying stickers" that I think I have had for quite a while.
This week's challenge is sponsored by The Scrapbook Store and you could win €10 store credit.  They have a great selection of everything... including stickers!.

So I peeled a sticker off my sheet - they are printed on a see through vellum type surface - added it to my card... and hey presto...
I decided to leave my Forever Friends Bear stamped on white cardstock with only his hat coloured red with copics and the glossy shine is from glossy accents which I added on top.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you will dig out some of your stickers and give the challenge a try this week.
