Happy 40th! Birthday

My SIL asked me to make some cards for her - so this is one I made for a friend's 40th.  Her friend is an Accountant and I think the paper is just perfect, it looks like an old maths test!.  It is from Cosmo Cricket (the boyfriend range).  I made a puffy vintage flower and used a Papertrey Ink button in Ocean Tides, tied with some embroidery floss.  Added some pale cream pearls and adhesive numbers that I picked up whilst living in the States.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day.

Paperplay - "don't use any patterned paper!"

Over on Paperplay this week the challenge is set by Evonne.  It is - "no patterned paper to be used".  It is very kindly sponsored by Whiff of Joy.
And here is what I came up with.... using no patterned paper!.
Evonne did say that we could use cardstock - and that is what I have done.  Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock cut with my large scalloped circles.  The image is a digital image by Heather Ellis called Pure Innocence available here.  I added glossy accents to her wellies and to the heart on the watering can.  I then added some ribbon flowers that I had in my stash - they are two tones of pink with a touch of white.

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope that you will play along.

Just Because! Card

This was the card I made as my DT card for Paperplay Challenges last Thursday - but decided to redo and make cards using Hero Arts products since it was a challenge they ran last year called "mail it" which inspired me to set my first challenge - "Just Because".  If you don't know about it - check out the details here.  You can still enter - closing date is Wednesday 10th March at 9.00pm GMT.

This card is using K&Co pp, Bazzill dotted swiss, machine stitching, sentiment from Papermania, brown cardstock cut in my Big Shot with my large scalloped circles.  Buttons from Papermania and puffy vintage flower - inspired by Dawn McVey (tutorial video here).

Thanks so much for peeking and hope you have a great week.

Hero Arts Monthly Challenge

Hey Everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.

I have made another card for this month's challenge over on Hero Arts.  Check out their blog for more information or the FLICKR pool to check out the entries to-date.
Supplies:  PP from MME Spring Papers, Hero Arts sentiment CL129 and Hero Arts Flower set CG128,
machine stitching, old french/english dictionary, Spellbinders scalloped circles nesties,
fimo button I made and embroidery floss.

I used Dawn McVey's method for making the vintage puffy flowers (see her video/post here) added a fimo button that I had made, some embroidery floss and voila!  I found an tiny old French/English dictionary that I used a little while ago! in school/college so I used that as my text / old paper source.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
