Pollycraft - "A glittery Christmas"

This week's Challenge on Pollycraft Monday Challenge is set by Joanne.  She wants you to create a card using the theme "A glittery christmas". After I took the shot above I decided to colour Marley's sweater and cut the ribbon a little..... so here's the finished card.

Supplies:  Pollycraft digital image - Marley's bauble,  Cosmo Cricket pp - 
Jolly by Golly Range 6x6, Papermania aqua coloured cardstock, 
Spellbinders star dies, tesco ribbon, Joy sentiment by SRM Stickers,

machine stitching, copics, pop dots and Diamond Stickles.

I adore this little guy - Marley's bauble.  I coloured the bauble on his tail with red copic and added glossy accents.  I then coloured him and his hat with copics and added lots of Diamond Stickles to his hat.  I cut sections of him out with a craft knife and then slotted the spellbinders largest star over him and ran it through my Big Shot.  I added a layer of stickles to the edge of the aqua star I handcut - I reckon this is "glittery!".  I also love the "Joy" Sticker by SRM Stickers - such a HUGE fan of SRM.

Entering this into Wee Memories Challenge this week - which is "Dust off that Patterned Paper!".   The pp I used is from last year's Cosmo Cricket range - Jolly by Golly.

Caring Hearts Card Drive - Blog Hop

Hi... welcome to the Caring Hearts Card Drive Blog Hop.   You should have come from Dawn's blog... so welcome.  The drive organised by Vera is to collect Thanksgiving/Christmas/Holiday Cards for people in nursing homes /care centres and assisted living.  Vera needs to have received the cards by November 15th to ensure distribution to the various centres/homes.

This is such a worthwhile cause and Vera doesn't mind who makes the cards - it can be scout groups, children, church groups etc.

Just remember -

• All cards need to have a message in it.  Please also sign your name and where you are from.  On the card envelope, write your name on the top left corner.  Also, please don't seal the envelope, as we will address the card when we deliver them to the nursing homes. Due to privacy policy, the nursing homes or the care center cannot share the resident's name to public.
• Please stick to just cards. 
• All cards need to be mailed to the following address:

I added some machine stitching - Flo looks a little lopsided in this photo - but she isn't in real life! LOL!

For the Birthday Girl - Squigglefly Challenge

The challenge over on Squigglefly is to use your favourite (Squigglefly) digital image.  Mine just has to be this cutie by Jane Beljo - Mia and Bosko.  I added stickles to the heart on Mia's top and coloured with copics.  Also added a sentiment sticker by SRM Stickers and a fimo heart button I made (has a slight sparkle to it!).

Paperplay - Recipe!

I used this cute bunny - "bunny blu" which is available here.  I coloured him to match my Cosmo Cricket papers and used some Papermania sheer ribbon, three DCWV flowers in shades of orange and word art from Create with TLC.  Okay... so here it is... I don't actually own any charms to go on my card... so I put a brad on one of the flowers instead... so technically it's not right... so I haven't followed the recipe correctly.... so .... slap on hand... I beg your forgiveness!!!!

Sketch Saturday and Tales From Pollycraft Challenge

Made this card using this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday.  Check it out here.  I made the card to also enter Paula's challenge - Flash those freebies! over on Tales from Pollycraft.  Paula wants us all to make a card using one of her freebies, post it and she will email us a new freebie... who doesn't LOVE freebies?

I used "Flo" who was a freebie on Tales from Pollycraft a few weeks ago.  Paired her with Cosmo Cricket paper, cardstock I ran through a CB embossing folder, I coloured Flo with copics and added lots of tiny pearls.  Am also entering it into the Pollycraft challenge this week - "Bold and Bright!".

Sketch Saturday - Week Four

It is so hard to believe that the month of June is nearly over..... my time at Sketch Saturday just whizzed by.  Thanks so much for having me as a Guest Designer - I had a blast.

and here is what I did with it.

Supplies Digital image from Tales from Pollycraft, pp Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird, 

textured cardstock by Papermania, pearls by Papermania, 

image and pearls coloured with copics, misc buttons, 

misc ribbon from stash, pop dots and glossy accents.

This sketch was so much fun to work with.  I used a digital image called "New Home" that I got as a freebie recently over on Tales from Pollycraft (thanks Paula!), coloured with copics, added glossy accents and matted and layered with cardstock/patterned paper from the Early Bird range by Cosmo Cricket.  I then Added some ribbon from my stash along with matching green buttons (unknown source! again from my stash).  I used copic YG03 to colour the pearls the same shade of green in the digi and hey presto... card done!.

Again I would like to thank Paula for inviting me to be Guest Designer for the month of June - I really enjoyed my time on Sketch Saturday.

Birthday Card

Made this 30th Birthday card using a digital image from Tiddly Inks Digitals.  Christy Croll is an amazing artist and has started her own Paper Craft Planet group where she shares some of her wonderful images to it's members as freebies.  If you like her images you should pop on over and join up - click here.

I coloured with copics and then added the recipient's name, age and a little Happy Birthday to the card the girl is holding to personalise it.  I stamped a Papermania Happy Birthday stamp on the cream cardstock and clear embossed it, hand stitched the edge with embroidery floss and matted in a red circle.  The pp is from Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird range.

Quick Card Share and Vanessa's Blog Candy

Quick Card Share - I must have spent at least one hour on Thursday trying to clean my camera... it is just so frustrating.  You come to the end of the cleaning process, look through the view finder and just feel like crying.  I LOVE my camera but the people at Canon have a lot to answer for with the 30D which doesn't have any self cleaning system!!!!  Surprisingly they introduced it on the next model.... was there a problem..... Sure was!!!! AARRRRggghhh... okay ... vent over! 

You can see the muck all over this photo - have spent more time yesterday cleaning and the results are slowly getting better.  My fingers are swollen from the cold at the moment so I feel like my hands are like awkward shovels which doesn't help with the delicate work of camera cleaning.

Happy Friday - lots to share!

Firstly... Happy Friday and a card share.  Made this with the amazing Jodie Mackrell's digital image Butterfly Bear 2 available over at Bugaboo Stamps.  Remember - Jodie does freebies every Friday!.  Thought this guy would be great for Valentine's - for the sentiment I did a play on words as I think he is a bear trying to impersonate a "bee"!!!!  Fun.... okay... the cold is getting to me!!!  it's minus 7 degrees celsius (19 degrees fahrenheit) outside!!! which I know isn't that cold for people in parts of the USA and Europe... but for Ireland ... that is BALTIC... the country is about to close down... running out of grit and salt supplies.. no kidding!

I am a big fan of the very talented and amazing Heidi Swapp and discovered a freebie over on House of 3 on Wednesday that I thought I would share. 

It is a place to journal where you would like to be at the END of 2010 - a focus for your thoughts, dreams and goals.  If you are interested - the link is here.  Maybe you could incorporate it into a layout or just use it for yourself!  Check out what Stephanie Ackerman did with her printout... just amazing!

Then I came across my HA friend Kathy's blog candy.... I fell off my chair and then said I had better share!!!!  It is AMAZING... go check out her blog here and get yourself in with a chance to win!!! lots of rhyming going on this morning and I'm not sure why.... maybe it's the cold!!!

Anyhow... Kathy is a creative genius and is giving away the above on her blog until Jan 21st - isn't she so kind and generous... Birthday Card

Have been playing with some of my Christmas presents! my new nesties - Scalloped Circles (large) and Labels 8 oh... and my copics too!.  Made this card using the 6x6 papers from Cosmo Cricket, the boyfriend range and the butterfly from Hero Arts Butterflies Clings.  Decided to play around with bending the sentiment to follow the shape of the circle.  I added some stickles to each of the dots on the butterfly wings for that little bit of sparkle.

Spellbinders Scalloped Circles Lge and Quickutz Nesting Circles, Copics, Papermania gems and stickles.

I used gems from Papermania to accent the Hero Arts sentiment.  I know I am going to get lots of use out of these Spellbinders sets.

Altered Notebooks

You might know that I took part in the first Hero Arts Artist Trading Card (ATC) International swap that was held recently and when I received my ATC's I checked into each ATC creators blog/FLICKR photostreams to say "thanks".  I came across Sarah's blog and saw she had an amazing tutorial on how to create Altered Notebooks - just perfect for those little Christmas gifts.  I made some last week and they were a hit!

I used the Cosmo Cricket - Jolly by Golly Range of cardstock and added fimo buttons which I had made with embroidery floss/ribbon.  I used tall jotters from Tesco which worked beautifully - if you want to see the jotter pad tutorial click here.

Paperplay Challenge - Parlez Vous?

Happy Saturday!.  This week's Paperplay Challenge is to use a language other than English on your card.  I made a card with a Hungarian Greeting on it.  Can you guess what it says?

PP - Cosmo Cricket, wooden heart, misc. gem stone  and embroidery floss

This is a new Friends Clings set from Hero Arts that I just opened and used for the first time - I love it!.  Did some paper piecing, machine stitching, added some bling and a wooden heart.  The font is Ali Edwards font from Creating Keepsakes (link to free download above).  I printed it in Word and then free handed it on to the card.  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  Thanks for visiting and the card says "I love you"!.  Have a great weekend.
