New Paperplay Challenge - inspired by a book or movie

This week's Paperplay Challenge was set by DT Member - Kate.  "Let A movie or book inspire you. You can get inspiration from the title of the movie/book, from the cover art on a book or from a movie poster".

I got my inspiration from the movie "Jungle Book" / "Lion King!".  I used digital images by Jane which are available over on Squigglefly.  They are just adorable and so fun to colour in.  I used my promarkers and copics to colour and shade them.  Then used some patterned paper from my stash, prima flowers, machine stitching and pop dots... hey presto... !  I am sending it to my little niece who has been unwell and got out of hospital on Sunday evening last.  She is one and a half and I hope she will like the animals (hence the addition of the pink flower behind Leo!, there just had to be some pink added!!!).

Supplies: Jane's digital images - big boned, giraffe and Leo from Squigglefly,
PP by DCWV, prima flowers, pop dots and machine stitching.

Thanks so much for stopping by - it's nearly Friday!!!!.

Happy Birthday Sharon!

It's a very special friend's birthday today and I haven't managed to get her card in the post!  So I am posting it here and sending her the link so she knows that I am thinking of her on her special day and that the card is on it's way.

Supplies: Forever Friends Birthday Bear stamp which was free with this month's Creativity Magazine,
Sentiment from Hero Arts, PP from Autumn Leaves - Heather Bailery range, Ribbon/ruffle!,
flower and gem from Papermania, coloured with promarkers and copics,
clear gemstones from Hero Arts (I just love these)

The weather here is dark and dreary again as well as blustery and wet!!! So the photo isn't as bright as I would like it to be... oh well!.  Tomorrow is Dec 8th and I am going to spend the day putting up the Christmas decorations with the boys.  I have been working on my December album and went to the processors this morning to get some shots printed - so I will upload and share some pages tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Sharon - hope you are having a terrific day.  Hugs x

"Read all about it" - this week's Paperplay Challenge

A new Paperplay Challenge this week - Week 42 set by DT Member Julie.  It is entitled "Read All About It!!".  She wants you to use some form of booktext - for example: vintage booktext, script background stamp or newspaper text.

This week our sponsor is Alison Spelman. Alison has recently set up her own digi image store and is offering 4 free images to the winner.  Alison also offers a free digi image each Wednesday on her blog so make sure to go check it out. Click here to check out her store/blog.

Sneak Peek - scroll down to see the completed card

I used one of Alison's images - "cowfarm" to create my card.  When I saw it, I just laughed... so fun!.  I decided to print the image twice, colour it and adhere it with dimensional adhesive i.e. pop dots, foam pads.   I used promarkers to colour him with some white gel pen highlights.  I added a page from a vintage french/english dictionary under his arm (it actually is the page that includes "turkey!").  I also printed off turkey facts from the internet and made them into columns to look like newspaper print before ageing with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink.  Hope you like him!

Supplies: Digital "cowfarm" image from StretchnBubbles, promarkers, white tall card blank,
machine stitching, foam pads, white gel pen, vintage dictionary page

Hope you play along.  Happy Thursday - thanks for stopping by.

Hands Up!

Made these snowmen for the Hero Arts Simple Holiday Challenge this week.  The idea has been rattling around in my head for a few days and I knew I needed to get them made.

I propped them up against some Cosmo Cricket cardstock - don't they look like they are in a line up!
and below they are standing up on their own.

Supplies: Hero Arts Share the Joy, promarkers and white pearls coloured
with a black sharpie
I think they will make terrific "mini" cards for the holidays to add to gifts.  They could also be coloured with watercolours, colouring pencils or paper pieced - the possibilities are endless but I had to stick with "simple holiday" for this challenge. Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comments.  Happy Friday  ♥.
