A Sweet Challenge

Did you see that Nicole over on Sweet Stamp Shop has a new "Sweet Challenge" this month.  You have until April 1st to play along.  

I decided to play along with one of the "eligible" sets - full deets are here.  I love this Sentimental Birds set.  I stamped on white cardstock, embossed and then got inky!

You could win the ENTIRE next release!  How cool is that?

I finished the card with a sentiment by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I know I will need some of these cards as a lot of college students are about to fly the shores for the Summer months (some to the USA on J1 Visas).

Good Luck - Day One

Supplies:  WMS Free Spirit Boy, WMS Free Spirit Sentiments, Glossy Accents, 

PTI Dark Chocolate ink, PTI Dark Chocolate cardstock, Distress inks - 

tea dye and walnut stain, blending tool, glossy accents and water.

I had fun creating these "boy" Good Luck Cards.  This week the State Exams start for Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate students and I seem to have lots of recipients on my list this year.

I used this fun set from Waltzingmouse stamps - Free Spirit Boy and Free Spirit Sentiments to create these two cards. 

I added glossy accents to the skater on the top card and to some of the circles/dots in the graphic design.  Then I added some drops of water on top of the inked image and the water erased the ink directly under it.  I then used a rag to lift the remaining water so the paper wouldn't warp.  It has a "bleaching" effect - which I like.

Thinking Inking

It is always nearly impossible to capture the shine from the paper when you spray with perfect pearls... but I think I managed to do it this afternoon with the flash on my camera on!  Although it looks splotchier than in real life!.

Supplies: PTI Wreath for all seasons, Papermania white pigment ink, PTI Dark Chocolate, 

Versamark ink, clear embossing powder, I rock crystal heat setting tools and clear gems, 

Fiskars Upper Crest border punch, crochet thread and Distress Inks - tea dye, 

walnut stain and spiced marmalade and Ranger/Tim Holtz blending tool.

This is what the card actually looks like after getting a good dose of tea dye, walnut stain and spiced marmalade!
