A flowery birthday!

Supplies:  pp and flowers from Watercolours Digital kit by Jen Martakis
Ribbon from MemrieMare on Etsy, white sequins, glossy
accents, printer, computer generated sentiment, aqua textured
cardstock - Papermania, font - scrubble, machine stitching.

Sorry about the poor photo quality - it's difficult here at the moment!  It's May but feels like November and the sun is not co-operating.  It is still very cool - where is our Spring?

I went through my stash of digital kits saved on my computer and decided to get crafting with some of them again.  It's so easy to have lots of amazing kits filed away neatly on your computer and forget about them - right?

This kit is by Jen Martakis and it's called "Watercolours".  I used the flower on top of the patterned paper from the kit and added a sentiment and then printed.  Trimmed, matted on aqua textured cardstock and added machine stitching (of course!).

I tied the ribbon and adhered to the card using glossy accents and then also added the sequins with glossy accents to make sure they won't budge!.

I stamped the spectacles, fussy cut them - then went over them with a black sharpie and added glossy accents on top!

I had them sitting on my craft table ready for use and didn't know what I would do with them.  Then my order arrived from Waltzingmouse Stamps and I knew I had to use the sentiment with them - hey presto - card born!

Fancy Folds

Supplies:  OA Buddies Stamp - Greeting Farm, grey and red
cardstock - Canson, birthday sentiment - Waltzingmouse Stamps,
glittered alphas - American Thickers, button - Basic Grey,
machine stitching, Tombow roller adhesive, glossy accents,
Notebook punch - Fiskars, notepage die - PTI, copics,
black tuexedo ink - Memento, pop dots and Scor-pal.

This week's Challenge on Paperplay is "Fancy Folds".   We are very kindly sponsored by Whiff of Joy this week.  Check out the other DT creations right here.

This was a difficult one to make because I made the front before I decided to turn it into an easel card!!!  I know, completely backwards!
I then did lots of measuring and playing with grey cardstock until I was happy with how it stood.  I used a Basic Grey button (which I threaded) and adhered to the cardstock with glossy accents.

I matted the coloured image to grey cardstock and layered it using pop dots for added dimension.

Another Birthday Card

Supplies:  SRM Sticker, Wine Bottle die - PTI, Circle die - Quickutz, kraft paper -
Canson, machine stitching, card blank - Anita's, pearls - Iconcraft, pop dots,
roller adhesive and glossy accents

I loved using my new PTI die to create the perfect "banner" to add to this card.  The patterned paper is a lovely dark denim colour (looks purple-ish in the photo!!!) and offsets the dark pink.

I added some twists to the flower stemps and adhered them to the card with glossy accents (to be sure they won't budge!).

The final touch was six tiny pearls which I left on the adhesive in sets of three, so they were evenly spaced when I added them to the cardstock.

Thanks for peeking - I really appreciate your visit/comments.

Make a Wish!

Supplies:  pp - Paper Cottage by Basic Grey, Hexagon die - Sizzix,
SRM Sticker, pearls - Iconcraft, machine stitching, Card Blank -
Anita's, Mini open roses in cream and pale pink, glossy accents,
pink cardstock - Canson and tombow adhesive.

I have had my hexagon die for a little while and have been playing with it but never really happy with the results.  I needed to make some Birthday Cards so I got it out and cut some pink hexagons.  They I used this fun new paper from Basic Grey called Paper Cottage collection.  It came in this month's Simon Says Stamp Kit of the Month.
I added flowers from my stash and a scattering of pearls.  The sentiment is a sticker from SRM.

I am entering this into Moxie Fab World - "Hooked on Hexagons Challenge"
and Crop Stop - Hexagon Craze.

Thanks for peeking, I hope you have a great day.

Fun to be Ten!

I was thrilled when Linda McClain from Catered Crop contacted me earlier this week to tell me that I was a hit on the Banners and Bunting Challenge.

Then Linda told me about Sunday's Quickfire and the Recipe swap is Rainbows!  Check out all the details here.
So here's what I created
Supplies:  Outlines Alphabet - Papertrey Ink, Tim Holtz Distress inks - Fired Brick,
Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans,
Chipped Sapphire, Milled Lavender, Anita's Tall White Card Blank,
glossy accents, Black Tuxedo ink - Memento,
Guillotine - Purple Cows and pop dots.

Okay - so this card was FUN to make.

I thought a splattered paint effect would create a fun card.  Firstly I stamped the word "ten"/brackets and dots on blank cardstock.  I then used glossy accents to "fill in" the word and brackets.
I wasn't sure if the ink would "resist" in the areas I had added the glossy accents - it didn't!  I think it may "resist" with other paints but the distress ink travelled underneath through the paper.  I don't mind because I actually like the finished product - a happy accident!.

I put some ink from my ink pad onto my kraft sheet, sprayed some water to make it liquid and then used a paintbrush and mask to do a portion of the card at a time.  I started in the middle with the green then the blue, violet and lavender.  I then moved to the other side of the green and then did the yellow, orange and red.

I trimmed my cardstock after the inks were dry to the size I wanted, matted and layered using pop dots and then added that layer to the based layer of cardstock.

Turning Ten ...

Supplies: Sailing boat stamp - Lili of the Valley, blue cardstock -
Canson, Outline Alphabet stamp set - PTI, glossy accents,
pop dots, tombow roller adhesive, copics, paintbrush,
Viridian - Aquamarine - French Ultramarine Archival inks -
Ranger, faded jeans distress ink - Ranger, Pearl Acrylic
Paint - docrafts, detail scissors and guillotine - purple cows.

Made this splattered card for my son's 10th Birthday today.

I decided to create a splatter effect background with various shades of ink that I mixed with some water and got splatting with a paintbrush!  So much fun!  I then added the image which I coloured with copics on top with pop dots for some dimension.

The white acrylic paint is a pearl medium so there is a little bit of shine and I added glossy accents to the hull of the boat.

over on Moxie Fab World.

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Stamps, Button Boutique Stamp Set & Die - PTI, Raspberry fizz

Border Punch - Fiskars, Pink cardstock - Canson, Magenta Hue -
Anita's kraft card blank, embroidery floss, machine stitching,
Stamp Press - Fiskars, Guillotine - Purple Cows
and white cardstock.

I knew as soon as my new "Chicken Wire and Compact Sentiments" stamp sets hit the hall floor (delivered by the mail carrier) yesterday morning from Waltzingmouse Stamps I would have to ink them up!

Plus - I have forgotten a February Birthday of a dear friend of mine who is a very talented artist and I need to send her a card and gift yesterday!!!  You know when the panic sets in when you realise you have forgotten?  That's the feeling in the pit of my stomach at the moment.  Thankfully I have a couple of cards sets made, packaged and will send one of these to her.

I used my new Ranger ink (love this colour - Magenta Hue - available at Simon Says Stamp now!).  I had some buttons already stitched onto the stamped cards and was looking for a home for them!.  I soooo love raspberry fizz buttons and ribbon.  I even love the name.  I machine stitched the ribbon on to the card and decided to run stitching all around the button card (barely visible in photo above - you can click to enlarge!).

Waltzingmouse Stamps - Blog Party

On the 17th of each month, Claire and the team at Waltzingmouse Stamps have a blog party.  I have never played along before but when I saw Claire's post on February 1st I decided to try and meet the deadline and play along - it's "Looking Forward to Spring".

For me, Spring is all about the rebirth, renewal and regrowth.  I think this is especially seen in our gardens /plants at this time of the year so I focused on flowers for my "Spring" card.  In our family there are also lots of birthdays in Spring!.
Supplies:  Waltzingmouse Stamps - Frame it set & Free Spirit Boy Set
pp kissing booth - Basic Grey, Pink cardstock - Penny Black,
kraft cardstock - Anita's/Papermania, tea dye
distressing ink, blending tool, Papermania white pearls,
ribbon from MemrieMare - Etsy, heart pin - Making Memories,
corner punch - X-Cut, threading water border
punch - Fiskars, stamping press - Fiskars, guillotine - Purple Cows,
foam dots, tombow roller adhesive and  detail cutting scissors.

Initially I was going to colour the flowers with copics so I created a mask to stamp the flowers repeatedly in the same "bunch", but in the end I decided to paper piece with different shades of patterned papers from the Kissing Booth collection.

I am also entering my card into this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

It is full of pinkness! and was inspired by Fancy Schmancy Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World.
You still have time to get a card made before the party kicks off this evening - all the details are here!.  Everyone is invited.... dig out your WMS stamps and get inky!
Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you have a great day/weekend.

Supplies:  Fluffy digi by Pollycraft, pp K & Co,  glittered chipboard -
American Crafts, copics G14, RV14, kraft card base by Anita's.

Whilst creating the wedding card for yesterday's post I noticed that the Challenge this week on Pollycraft Monday Challenge was "girls, girls, girls".  I knew I had to print out "fluffy" and do a girly monster card.

I just adore Fluffy - I tried to leave him looking "fluffy" when colouring him with copics.  Don't have a recipient for this card yet - just makes me smile, so I will add it to my stash!.
