Tweet, tweet

Great start to the week.

This morning whilst making lunches for the boys I spied from the kitchen window a thrush busily filling its beak with all sorts of soft nest building materials.  It was pecking at the grass for moss and in the flower bed for some withered plant leaves.  My boys were fascinated because in its hurry to collect it was dropping more than it seemed to be gathering!.

You may remember the little chicks (above) which were residents in our garden last year.

Well, this morning when I got out of my car - two robin redbreasts welcomed me home and made sure I saw them hopping around the car!  I think it might be Mom and Dad back to nest in our garden again this year - I really hope so.

Hope you have a good start to your week.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Just saying hello

Supplies:  Anita's A6 cardblank, Hero Arts digi kit - Flower Bicycle
Hero Arts Everyday Sayings CL342, Friend Definition - CG125,
tea dye distress ink and blending tool, pop dots, tombow roller adhesive,
Spellbinders heart dies, Cosmo Cricket pp, copics BG10, E43,Y28, YG23,
YG17,YG63, G14 and G82.

It has been ages since I entered a monthly challenge over on Hero Arts and guess what! I missed this month's one too.  It was "Friendship and Hello Cards".

Laura O'Donnell posted a fantastic card using a new digi kit on the two peas gallery here.  I decided to do a version of it but changed out the flower basket.

I have a stash of A6 card blanks that I like to use - so instead of printing and cropping I decided to wrap the bicycle image around the back of the card!.  I set up the image in Word and printed from there.
I stamped the Friend Definition stamp on some scrap cardstock, distressed it, folded it and added it to the basket, also added a heart cut with my Spellbinders heart die out of Cosmo Cricket pp.  Added a little tiny pearl to the front wheel and stamped my sentiment.

Thanks for peeking, hope you are having a great weekend.

Ouch!

Sorry I have been missing for the past few days - lots happening!.

I was at an Endodontic Specialist this morning!  Impressed????  Don't be .... it involved teeth!

Had root canal treatment on one of my little toothies (the one I have had pain in since last July!) and hopefully two more visits and I will be jumping around the place pain free!

Here's hoping.

It's Shrove Tuesday and I have been busy making pancake batter for later.  The recipe I used was from Ballymaloe Cookery School but I heard Christine O'Sullivan, who you might remember from
Masterchef Ireland sharing her recipe on Hector@2FM this morning.

1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk
1 egg

Hope you get to enjoy some pancakes!

Waltzingmouse Stamps - Blog Party

On the 17th of each month, Claire and the team at Waltzingmouse Stamps have a blog party.  I have never played along before but when I saw Claire's post on February 1st I decided to try and meet the deadline and play along - it's "Looking Forward to Spring".

For me, Spring is all about the rebirth, renewal and regrowth.  I think this is especially seen in our gardens /plants at this time of the year so I focused on flowers for my "Spring" card.  In our family there are also lots of birthdays in Spring!.
Supplies:  Waltzingmouse Stamps - Frame it set & Free Spirit Boy Set
pp kissing booth - Basic Grey, Pink cardstock - Penny Black,
kraft cardstock - Anita's/Papermania, tea dye
distressing ink, blending tool, Papermania white pearls,
ribbon from MemrieMare - Etsy, heart pin - Making Memories,
corner punch - X-Cut, threading water border
punch - Fiskars, stamping press - Fiskars, guillotine - Purple Cows,
foam dots, tombow roller adhesive and  detail cutting scissors.

Initially I was going to colour the flowers with copics so I created a mask to stamp the flowers repeatedly in the same "bunch", but in the end I decided to paper piece with different shades of patterned papers from the Kissing Booth collection.

I am also entering my card into this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

It is full of pinkness! and was inspired by Fancy Schmancy Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World.
You still have time to get a card made before the party kicks off this evening - all the details are here!.  Everyone is invited.... dig out your WMS stamps and get inky!
Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you have a great day/weekend.

Most of the cards linked on Katharina's post are blue/red (boy!) spider Henry's!  I decided to make mine a "Spider Henrietta!" - we need female heroes too right?

I coloured "her" with copics, used my circle dies and Big Shot to cut my new Kissing Booth papers by Basic Grey, machine stitched the layers and job's oxo!

My card was inspired by this photo below - Fancy Schmancy over on Moxie Fab World - it's the current Tuesday Trigger.
