This week's challenge on Paperplay is Halloween - "A haunting we will go!".  This challenge is set by DT Member Julie and she loves Halloween.  It is very kindly sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts - full challenge deets are here.

This is such a worthwhile cause and Vera doesn't mind who makes the cards - it can be scout groups, children, church groups etc.

Just remember -
  • All cards need to have a message in it.  Please also sign your name and where you are from.  On the card envelope, write your name on the top left corner.  Also, please don't seal the envelope, as we will address the card when we deliver them to the nursing homes. Due to privacy policy, the nursing homes or the care center cannot share the resident's name to public.
  • Please stick to just cards.
  • All cards need to be mailed to the following address:

Paperplay - Colour Combo & a cute freebie

This week's challenge over on Paperplay is a colour combo set by the wonderfully talented Vera.  She has asked that we use blue, orange and olive green.

We are very kindly sponsored this week by Whiff of Joy.  You may have seen this already on my blog as it featured in the CARDS - pocket challenge recently.
I got this image as a freebie - "Spider Henry" a while ago on the Whiff of Joy blog and pulled out three copics - Blue B24, Orange E08 and Olive Green YG95 and set to work!.  Pop over to Whiff of Joy - I think Spider Henry may still be there!!.  I paired him with wonderful Word Art from Create with TLC.  As I coloured I got an idea that it would make a fun bookmark so decided to have it detachable from the card.

I stitched some acetate onto some Olive Green Bazzill dotted swiss cardstock, layered it on top of machine stitched blue dotted cardstock and then added a co-ordinating piece of ribbon to the top.  (After I took the photo I added two small glass beads to the ends of the ribbon for weight - but I'm afraid I didn't retake the photo!).

Hope you like the card I created with Vera's colour combo and get a chance to play along with Paperplay this week.  Thanks so much for popping in and please feel free to leave a comment - I love reading each and every one of them.

Birthday Card - Thinking Inking

Supplies:  Jillibean Soup Kraft card blank, PTI Blooming Button Bits
- flower, leaves and sentiment.  Colorbox Pigment Ink in Eggplant, Versacolor ink - Sage,
Clear embossing powder, doodlebug gems and vintage white buttons from Nancy

Okay... I have been cleaning my house all morning and have taken a quick break!!!  Have guests arriving from out of town tomorrow... so have to get the place ship shape.

I stamped the flower in eggplant, leaves in sage then coated in clear ep - used my heat tool and then put it straight back into the ep, did several layers to get a high shine/thick layer of embossing on the flowers and on the leaves.  This is what Jennifer McGuire did with her roses on this week's thinking inking too.  I cut out and adhered to a kraft card blank.  Added stitching with emboidery floss to the wonderful vintage buttons that Nancy sent me (Thank you Nancy) and added gems to one card.

Created the box around the card with a eggplant coloured gel pen.  Thanks so much for peeking.. have to go back to the cleaning!

Check out the wonderful 2peas class - Thinking Inking right here for amazing inspiration from Jennifer McGuire.  Have a fun day!

It's Fall... over on Tiffany Doodles

Have you seen this wonderful fun set by Tiffany Doodles?  I used the owl to create the mini card above.  I also added the googly eyes to give it a fun look.
This set is just so versatile - I love it.  I left the card sentiment free so it is suitable for lots of occasions.  I ran the green cardstock through the new Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder - am loving this! and added a fimo button I made myself (not as perfect or wonderful as Jane's... check out her Etsy shop here).

Did you know that Tiffany is running a sale at the moment on Tiffany Doodles - be sure to check it out here.
Tiffany Doodles current challenge theme is "Fall" - great prizes to win and you have until the 31st October to enter - full details here.

Tiffany is also sponsoring Penny's Paper - Crafty Challenge Blog this week and the challenge is "so long as it flies" - you can interpret it any way you want..... so this is my interpretation!!! LOL!!

Wee Memories Challenge - Halloween

This wonderful freebie - Luna Bitterfrost available from Paula over on Pollycraft was the perfect image for this Halloween Card.  She also has a new freebie this week - Charcoal "in Moonspooks"!

The Pollycraft Monday Challenge this week is "it's a Fairytale".   So... this is my Gretel from a spooky October version of "Hansel and Gretel"! by the Brothers Grimm.

I printed it twice and cut out the smaller pumpkin and layered it with pop dots.  I also added glossy accents to just the skull - I resisted adding gloss to all the pumpkins!!!  It was a challenge! LOL!!
Added machine stitching in orange and matted and layered on BG Eerie 6x6 papers.  The sentiment was computer generated using Luna Font.

I am also entering this into this week's Wee Memories Halloween Challenge.  Jenny is on her honeymoon but the DT are looking after the show in her absence.  Hope she is having a wonderful time.

Thanks for peeking and I hope you have a fabulous day.  Would love to read your comments too if you fancy leaving one.  Thanks so much.
